How do I scan a material?
Open the app and tap the scan button on the home screen. Point your camera at the material you want to identify and follow the on-screen prompts. Results are returned within seconds.
What materials can the app identify?
Material Scanner is designed to identify a wide range of common building and decorative materials including wood, metal, concrete, fabric, and more. Additional material categories are being added regularly.
Why does the app ask for my location?
Location is used to provide localised material pricing and availability from retailers near you. Location access is optional; you can still use the core identification features without granting location permission.
How do I reset my password?
On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot Password, enter your email address, and we will send you a secure reset link. Check your spam folder if the email does not arrive within a few minutes.
How do I delete my account?
To request account deletion and removal of your associated data, email us at hello@materialscanner.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". We will process your request within 30 days.
Is there a subscription or one-time purchase?
Material Scanner will offer a free tier with limited scans per month and a Pro subscription for unlimited scans and advanced features. Pricing details will be available on the App Store and Google Play Store at launch.
